Kent struggles against Northants as Zak Crawley's form woes continue

Northamptonshire set a record score of 684 for two declared at Canterbury, with Ricardo Vasconcelos, Luke Procter, and Calvin Harrison all scoring hundreds on the opening day, and Nathan McSweeney achieving the same feat on Saturday. Procter's unbeaten 261 led the way, before Kent's response was hindered by the loss of Ben Compton and Sam Northeast. Zak Crawley, under pressure to retain his England Test spot, made 26 but was dismissed by Harry Conway, leaving Kent on 119 for six. Elsewhere, Ben Duckett was run out for one as Nottinghamshire built a strong lead over Glamorgan, while Ben McKinney boosted his chances of displacing Crawley or Duckett with a score of 244 for Durham against Gloucestershire. Other notable performances included Craig Overton's career-best 141 for Somerset, Rishi Patel's unbeaten 133 for Leicestershire, and Rob Yates' unbeaten 75 for Warwickshire.
