Double Injury Setback for England in Women's Six Nations

A double injury blow has hit England's Women's Six Nations campaign, with Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt forced to withdraw from the tournament due to leg injuries sustained during the 33-12 victory over Ireland. The injuries occurred in the second half of the match, with lock Talling being taken off after 43 minutes and replacement scrum-half Hunt lasting just 13 minutes before being substituted. This setback follows the earlier withdrawal of locks Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan due to pregnancy, leaving England with a significant gap to fill in the second row. England head coach John Mitchell acknowledged the challenge, stating that the team may need to rely on back-rowers to fill the void. Talling and Hunt will remain in the England camp for specialist treatment before beginning their rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to the injuries, the RFU has confirmed that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad to prepare for the upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield.
