Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his decision to step down as head coach of Catalans Dragons, citing personal reasons. Tomkins, who had been in the role for nearly a year, revealed that being away from his family had taken a toll on him. After a recent stint back home, he made the difficult decision to leave the team after just seven games into the Super League season, with the Dragons currently sitting sixth in the standings. Initially, Tomkins had taken on the role as an interim coach following Steve McNamara's departure but was soon appointed as the permanent head coach. Tomkins expressed his gratitude to the players, staff, and supporters, stating that he has learned a great deal during his time at the club and is leaving as a better coach. He will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, who will take over as interim head coach alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce. The team's next game is on April 18 against the Warrington Wolves.
