Thomas Partey Pleads Not Guilty to Additional Rape Allegations
Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has entered not guilty pleas to two fresh allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday to deny the charges, which relate to an incident in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, to which he also pleaded not guilty. The new allegations bring the total number of charges against him to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, involving four different women. A trial date has been set for November, but the judge has warned that it may be pushed back to January next year. Partey is currently out on bail, with the condition that he does not contact the alleged victims. He is expected to play for Ghana in the upcoming World Cup.
