Johnston Returns to Training, Araujo's Celtic Career May Be Over

Celtic's long-term injured player Alistair Johnston has resumed training, but loan defender Julian Araujo may have played his last game for the club due to a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury. Johnston, who has been out since October with a hamstring injury, joined his teammates at the Lennoxtown training complex ahead of the Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Araujo, on the other hand, had returned to his parent club Bournemouth for rehabilitation but has suffered a relapse. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill expressed optimism about Johnston's progress, saying, 'He trained with the team today, which was very encouraging.' However, O'Neill was less positive about Araujo's chances of returning to the team, stating, 'I don't think we will see him for the rest of the season.' The club also announced that right-back Colby Donovan will miss the upcoming game due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, the Green Brigade, Celtic's ultras group, will be back in attendance after a five-month ban was lifted, providing a much-needed boost to the team's morale. O'Neill acknowledged the importance of the fans' support, saying, 'The support is very strong, it's great to see them back again.' With the title race heating up, O'Neill admitted that he would rather be in Hearts' position, leading the table with 67 points, but remained cautious, saying, 'It could go any way. I genuinely wouldn't know.'
