Manchester United Closing in on New Deal for Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that the club is nearing a new contract agreement with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. The 20-year-old's current deal, signed in 2023, is set to expire in the summer of 2027, but the club is keen to offer him an improved contract that reflects his progression and status within the first team. Mainoo has been a regular feature in the team since Carrick took over, and his new deal is expected to include a significant pay rise. The midfielder's fortunes at Old Trafford have seen a significant turnaround under Carrick, having previously been out of favor under former head coach Ruben Amorim. Mainoo was recently included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad, featuring in both games against Uruguay and Japan. Carrick's own future at the club remains uncertain, but he appears to be making a strong case for the permanent manager position, having led the team to seven wins in ten games since January and lifting them up to third in the Premier League.
