Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins, the head coach of Catalans Dragons, has announced his decision to leave the club after nearly a year in charge, citing personal reasons for his departure. Tomkins, a former England international in both rugby league and union, had been struggling with the demands of being away from his family and made the decision to step down after a recent period at home. Initially appointed as an interim coach following Steve McNamara's exit, Tomkins was later given the permanent role at the club where he spent the final years of his playing career. In a statement, Tomkins expressed his gratitude to the players, staff, and supporters, while also acknowledging the challenges he faced as a rookie head coach. He will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan, who will take over as interim head coach alongside assistants Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, starting with the team's next game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
