QPR and Bristol City Share the Spoils in Goalless Draw

QPR and Bristol City extended their unbeaten streaks with a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road. The Robins, now under the interim charge of Roy Hodgson, have not lost since his appointment and have won their first two matches under his guidance. QPR, meanwhile, are unbeaten in five matches and welcomed back Rumarn Burrell as a substitute after a three-month injury layoff. In the first half, City posed a greater threat, with their best chance falling to Scott Twine, who failed to connect with a half-volley. QPR goalkeeper Joe Walsh made several key saves, including a strike from Mark Sykes and a deflected effort from Emil Riis. At the other end, Kieran Morgan's shot went wide, Richard Kone's header was saved by City's on-loan goalkeeper Radek Vitek, and Noah Eile almost scored an own goal from Paul Smyth's cross. After the break, Walsh pushed away a shot from Twine, and Smyth sliced a shot wide following good work by Rayan Kolli. QPR head coach Julien Stephan changed his forward line midway through the second half, bringing on Burrell and Daniel Bennie for Kone and Kolli. Burrell, who scored 10 goals before suffering a hamstring tear in January, received a warm welcome from the home fans but was unable to make an immediate impact. Bristol City have kept back-to-back clean sheets under Hodgson and appear more solid and organized. Both teams worked hard, but there were few clear-cut chances in the closing stages. The game's lack of quality was evident in stoppage time when Tomi Horvat over-hit a pass, allowing Walsh to collect. QPR's Julien Stephan praised his team's effort, saying, 'The season is not finished, and I think the players showed that it's not finished for us in their mindset.' Bristol City's Roy Hodgson noted, 'I thought the teams cancelled each other out. They made it difficult for us to get behind them, and we made it difficult for them.'
