Hollie Doyle's Blog: Derby Hopeful Wareeth Takes Center Stage

I'm set to ride some exciting horses at Newmarket's Craven meeting, including Derby prospect Wareeth in the Listed Feilden Stakes. My mount, trained by Archie Watson, will be taking a significant step up in class after his impressive 14-length victory in a novice race at Newcastle last month. Although he doesn't currently hold a Derby entry, we've been pleased with his progress since his debut. I had the chance to sit on him last week and was impressed, but we'll learn more about his abilities after this race. Wareeth will face stiff competition from Aidan O'Brien's Isaac Newton, who has already won a maiden and finished fourth in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud, and Godolphin's Poseidon's Warrior, who won over this distance at Goodwood. All three colts are entered in the traditional Derby trial, the Group 2 Dante at York. I'm also looking forward to riding Zoulou Chief in the Weatherbys With Venatour Racing Handicap, who ran a great race for me at Newmarket in the autumn. He's been performing well on the All-Weather over the winter and should put in another strong performance. I've had the opportunity to ride Harlequin Breeze in her work and believe she's worth her place in the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes, despite being an outsider. This tough filly has improved with each run and showed determination over course and distance in November. Impossible Mission will need to prove himself on turf as he takes on rivals in the National Stud Handicap, while Lady Fizz will gain valuable experience in the Molson Coors British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes. On Thursday, I'll be riding Prince Of India in the Zyn Abernant Stakes, a powerfully built colt who could make a significant impact in stakes sprints this summer. I'm expecting a strong performance from Hawk Mountain in the Group 3 Betway Craven Stakes, a Group 1 winner who can reinforce his Derby claims. Another favorite of mine, Boiling Point, returns to turf in the Group 3 Betway Earl Of Sefton Stakes, and with a recent run under his belt, he can establish himself as a genuine Pattern performer this season.
