Jango Baie Claims Victory in the Racing Welfare Bowl at Aintree

Jango Baie, the Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up, achieved a triumphant win at Aintree by taking full advantage of Impaire Et Passe's fall in the Racing Welfare Bowl. Nicky Henderson's seven-year-old was the favorite to end his season on a high note after valiantly chasing home Gaelic Warrior in the Gold Cup. Despite imperfect jumping for much of the three-mile-one-furlong journey, Jango Baie produced his best leap of the race two fences from home, securing a 16-length victory over Dan Skelton's Protektorat. Henderson and jockey Nico de Boinville gained swift compensation after odds-on favorite Lulamba unseated his rider in the preceding race. Henderson stated that Jango Baie isn't a rogue like Might Bite, who was second in the Gold Cup and won this race. The King George and the Gold Cup are the obvious targets for Jango Baie next season. Meanwhile, Dan Skelton felt incredibly proud of Protektorat in defeat, saying the veteran horse is phenomenal and will be given a start next year.
