Grey Dawning executed a flawless drop back in distance to outdo Solness in a captivating duel at the JCB Melling Chase in Aintree. Joseph O'Brien's Solness, moving up from two miles, took the lead and disputed the early pace with Gidleigh Park before asserting dominance down the back straight.
