Sinner Achieves 20th Consecutive Masters 1000 Victory, Alcaraz Advances to Semifinals

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has added another impressive feat to his resume, securing his 20th consecutive Masters 1000 win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime. This achievement places him alongside tennis legends Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal. Sinner rebounded from a previous setback, where his 37-set winning streak was broken by Tomas Machac in the fourth round, to defeat the Canadian in straight sets and confirm his semifinal spot. He continues to push for the world No. 1 ranking, currently held by Carlos Alcaraz, who dethroned Sinner in November last year. Sinner expressed his satisfaction with the match, stating, 'I feel like it was a step forward today. It was a very tough match. I knew I had to improve in certain areas.' He acknowledged that his serve is not yet at the desired level but is pleased with his overall performance. Sinner will face Alexander Zverev in the semifinals, who defeated Brazil's Joao Fonseca 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3. Alcaraz will face hometown hero Valentin Vacherot, who became the first Monegasque player to reach the semifinals at Monte Carlo after saving 13 break points and defeating Alex de Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
