Southampton Moves Up to Fifth Place with Comeback Win Over Derby

Southampton continued their ascent up the Championship table, overcoming an initial deficit to defeat fellow playoff contenders Derby 2-1 at St Mary's. Second-half goals from Leo Scienza and Taylor Harwood-Bellis negated Carlton Morris' earlier strike, extending the Saints' unbeaten streak to 17 games. The hosts began strongly, with Scienza creating an early chance for Tom Fellows, whose poor first touch prevented a shot on goal. Derby was forced to make an early substitution when Bobby Clark was replaced by Oscar Fraulo due to injury. Despite being three points behind Southampton at the start of the day, the Rams showed intent in their pursuit of a crucial victory.
