Johnston Returns to Training, Araujo's Celtic Career Possibly Over
After a lengthy absence, Alistair Johnston has resumed training with Celtic, while Julian Araujo's time at the club may be coming to an end due to a recurring thigh issue. Johnston, who has been sidelined since October with a hamstring injury, joined his teammates at the Lennoxtown training complex ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Meanwhile, Araujo, who is on loan from Bournemouth, has suffered a setback in his recovery and may not play for Celtic again this season. "He trained with the team today, which was very encouraging," Celtic manager Martin O'Neill said of Johnston. "I don't think he felt any ill effects. If he comes through today and next week's training, we could see him back in action soon." Regarding Araujo, O'Neill expressed disappointment, saying, "Julian re-injured himself under supervision at Bournemouth, which was a real blow. I don't think we will see him for the rest of the season." The club also announced that right-back Colby Donovan will miss the upcoming match due to a hamstring injury. On a positive note, the Green Brigade, Celtic's ultras group, will return to Celtic Park after a five-month ban was lifted, providing a much-needed boost to the team. O'Neill welcomed their return, saying, "The support is very strong, it's great to see them back again." With the title race heating up, O'Neill acknowledged that Hearts are in a favorable position, saying, "I would still rather be in Hearts' position just now. They are in the lead with games running out, that is not a bad position to be in."
