Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva booked her place in the Linz Open final on Saturday, defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the semi-finals. The world number ten dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games to secure a 6-4, 6-1 win in one hour and 27 minutes. Anastasia Potapova will face Andreeva in the final, having defeated Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals. Potapova took an early lead, but Vekic fought back before the Russian regained control to take the first set. Potapova's dominance continued in the second set, where she built a 4-0 lead to seal her first win over Vekic in their last three meetings. This will be Potapova's first final since her title win on debut three years ago. The match against Andreeva will be their fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters. However, they have not played each other on clay before.
