Manchester United Edging Closer to Securing Mainoo's Future

Manchester United's manager, Michael Carrick, has expressed optimism that Kobbie Mainoo is nearing a new contract agreement with the club. In March, it was reported that both Mainoo and Harry Maguire were on the verge of signing new deals, with Maguire's contract being confirmed recently. Although Mainoo's deal has not been finalized, it is believed to include a substantial pay increase, reflecting his growth over the past few seasons and his current status within the team. The proposed five-year contract would run until 2031, better aligning with Mainoo's progression. Carrick, whose own future at the club remains uncertain, stated that the club is making progress in securing a new contract with the midfielder, saying, "We're positive with that. We're calm with it, but we're positive, and only time will tell how it will go. But we're in a good place with him." This development marks a significant turnaround for Mainoo, who was not part of previous head coach Ruben Amorim's plans. Since Carrick took over, Mainoo has featured in every Premier League match and has become a key player. He was also included in Thomas Tuchel's latest England squad, playing in both games against Uruguay and Japan. With Carrick potentially becoming the next permanent manager, having won seven of his 10 games and lifting United to third in the Premier League, the club's future looks promising.
