Rahm Optimistic About Resolving Ryder Cup Eligibility Issue

Jon Rahm is confident that he can reach an agreement with the DP World Tour to remain eligible for the European Ryder Cup team. The Spaniard still needs to settle outstanding fines, reportedly over £2 million, for participating in LIV Golf League events without permission. Rahm rejected the DP World Tour's offer that required him to withdraw his appeals, pay the fines, and play two additional events. He described the deal as 'extorting players' but has since withdrawn his appeal, leaving his DP World Tour future uncertain. 'We're going to find a good solution for both of us,' Rahm said. Luke Donald, who hopes Rahm can feature in the Ryder Cup team, stated that he wants to find a resolution between the DP World Tour and Rahm. When asked about playing in the Ryder Cup, Rahm replied, 'Yeah.' The DP World Tour's deal included a minimum of six events, but Rahm previously stated he would agree to play only four events per season. Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose have also commented on the issue, with McIlroy saying it's a shame Rahm didn't take the 'generous' deal and Rose believing there's 'middle ground' to be found. Rahm is currently not scheduled to play on the DP World Tour until September and is keen on participating in multiple events later this year. 'I have faith in us and the DP World Tour - we're going to work it out,' Rahm added.
