Hamilton's Revival: Former Champion Mansell Sees a Rejuvenated Lewis

According to Nigel Mansell, a former Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton has regained his momentum this season. Hamilton recently ended a 16-month drought without an F1 podium by finishing third at the Chinese Grand Prix, marking his first rostrum finish since joining Ferrari in 2025. The 41-year-old has also shown significant improvement in pace compared to his teammate Charles Leclerc, after struggling with the previous generation of F1 cars. Mansell believes the new regulations suit Hamilton's driving style and doesn't rule out the possibility of him winning a race this season. "Lewis is fired up again, and it's fantastic what he's doing," Mansell told Sky Sports News. Hamilton attributes his return to form to better preparation of his mind and body, which has contributed to his improved performance. When he joined Ferrari last year, the car wasn't tailored to his driving style, but this year's new car has given him a fresh start. Mansell thinks the current season could turn into a two-horse race between Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, and believes Russell needs to use his experience to win the intra-team battle.
