Stoke City Battles Back to Secure Draw Against Blackburn
Blackburn Rovers inched closer to Championship survival with a 1-1 draw against 10-man Stoke City, thanks to Adam Forshaw's third goal in a decade. Forshaw gave Rovers the lead in the 21st minute, but Crystal Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi equalized for Stoke in the 56th minute. Stoke finished the game with a man down after Ash Phillips was dismissed for a second bookable offense. Despite the draw, Rovers boss Michael O'Neill was pleased with the point, considering it a difficult away game. O'Neill's side has now gone unbeaten in five games and will look to carry this form into their remaining four matches. Stoke manager Mark Robins acknowledged the fans' disappointment but emphasized the need for patience, citing the team's progress from being on the brink of relegation last season.
