Benn Sets Sights on Garcia for World Title Shot

Conor Benn expressed his eagerness to face WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia after defeating Regis Prograis on Saturday. Following a unanimous decision victory over former world champion Prograis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Benn immediately turned his attention to Garcia. Despite several head clashes that led to cuts on his eye, Benn secured a hard-fought win and swiftly called out Garcia in a social media video. "Garcia, keep my belt warm! I want my belt, and I want it now," Benn stated. Garcia, who won the WBC welterweight title in February, responded by saying, "I'm down. Let's make it happen, Garcia vs Benn." Benn's victory over Prograis, which improved his record to 25-1, took place at a catchweight of 3lb above the 147lb welterweight limit. Benn has primarily fought at welterweight, with his only professional loss coming against Chris Eubank Jr at 160lb before winning their rematch last year. Prograis pushed Benn to his limits on Saturday, but the latter's superior speed and energy earned him a comfortable points victory. "It was a great fight, and I had to endure some tough moments, but we're good," Benn said. "Now that I've fought at 150 for the first time in three years, I'm ready to move down to 147 and take on Ryan Garcia."
