Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following an impressive eight consecutive wins, Nicky Richards is set to send three horses to compete in the National Hunt event at Hexham on Monday. Jamesieconn will be one of the horses, aiming for a fourth straight victory for the in-form Richards team. Having shown a liking for the three-mile distance and good ground when winning at Carlisle, Jamesieconn has been given a 5lb weight increase to a mark of 100. This added weight might pose a challenge, but it would not be surprising if Danny McMenamin's mount rises to the occasion once more. Streamsforth Lad, despite not having won in 18 starts, has placed in various races and is still off a mark of 97 after showing improvement at Bangor. Stuart Coltherd, who has achieved a level-stakes profit of +298 over the last two weeks, will be saddling Rightbackatyou, who performed well behind Scottish King over this course and distance recently. Nicky Richards will also send out Young Getaway to attempt to continue his remarkable run in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase. This will be Young Getaway's chasing debut, a year after being defeated over hurdles by That One, who will also be competing. That One will be making his first start over fences after a disappointing outing at Newcastle and will have Jack Power's 5lb claim, effectively reducing his mark to 105. Other competitors include Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, trained by the Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore combination, and Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, who has a strong record at Gosforth Park. Wicket Keeper, Paddy's Day, and Albasheer will also be competing, with the latter being ridden by Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won more convincingly than the winning distance suggested last time out, will return for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30 pm.
