Amanda Serrano to Put Titles on the Line in May
Amanda Serrano is set to make her return to the ring on May 30, defending her WBA and WBO titles against Cheyenne Hanson at the El Paso County Coliseum in Texas. The event will also feature a highly anticipated rematch between Stephanie Han and Holly Holm for the WBA lightweight title. Additionally, Desley Robinson will put her IBF and WBO middleweight titles on the line against Mary Spencer, while Yokasta Valle will face Lourdes Juarez for the WBC light-flyweight title. Serrano expressed her respect for her opponent, stating, "I respect every opponent who steps in the ring, and I know Hanson is coming to win and she has KO power." She also emphasized her focus on discipline and execution, as she continues to pursue the all-time knockout record. Serrano, the first-ever Puerto Rican undisputed world champion and most decorated fighter in women's boxing history, is coming off a successful unified featherweight title defence in January. Her opponent, Hanson, is excited for the opportunity to represent Germany on the global stage, saying, "I'm really excited and grateful for this fight... I respect my opponent, but I'm coming to make a statement." The event promises to be an exciting night of boxing, with Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of promoter MVP, stating, "This night is going to be absolute fireworks in El Paso."
