Tomkins, who took on the role on an interim basis before being appointed permanently, has found it challenging to be away from his family and has now stepped down after seven games into the Super League season. The team is currently sixth in the standings. In a statement, Tomkins expressed his gratitude for the experience and the friendships he formed during his time at the club, but noted that the distance from his family had become too difficult to manage. Ryan Sheridan will assume the role of interim head coach, assisted by Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, ahead of the team's next match against the Warrington Wolves on April 18.
