Your Racing Fix on Sky Sports: Alternative Motorsport Events to Watch in April

Although the Formula 1 season is on a break, motorsport enthusiasts can still enjoy a plethora of live racing events on Sky Sports F1 throughout April. Over the next two weekends, both the TV and YouTube channels will feature a packed schedule of track action from various categories and events. This weekend, Max Verstappen will compete in the Nurburgring Endurance Series at the iconic Nordschleife, where he will participate in two races - one on Saturday and another on Sunday. Verstappen, who won the NLS2 race last month but was disqualified due to a tyre infringement, is also set to participate in the Nordschleife 24 Hours in May. Additionally, fans can watch the latest round of the IndyCar season from Long Beach in California, as well as historic racing events from Goodwood and Monaco. The 2026 IndyCar Series will continue on Sky Sports F1, with round five taking place at the famous street track in Long Beach. The event promises to be exciting, with four different polesitters and three different winners in the opening four events. As the 24-hour race in May approaches, an NLS double-header will take place at the Nurburgring, featuring Verstappen and Lucas Auer in their Red Bull-liveried Mercedes GT3 car. Furthermore, the 83rd Goodwood Members' Meeting will feature 13 races in historic machinery, demonstration laps by Jenson Button in his 2009 title-winning Brawn car, and a tribute to James Hunt 50 years after his 1976 title win. The schedule for the upcoming events is as follows: Friday, April 17, 11pm - IndyCar Long Beach Practice One; Saturday, April 18, 9am - Goodwood Members' Meeting Day One, 10:15am - NLS 4, 6:30pm - IndyCar Long Beach Practice Two, 11:30pm - IndyCar Long Beach Qualifying; Sunday, April 19, 9am - Goodwood Members' Meeting Day Two, 10:15am - NLS 5, 6pm - IndyCar Long Beach Warm-up, 10:30pm - IndyCar Long Beach Race. The following week, historic racing from Monaco will be featured, with action from both days of the popular Historique event. The Monaco Historique event will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 7:10am, and Sunday, April 26, at 6:55am. Formula 1 will return on May 1-3 with the Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, live on Sky Sports F1.
