Aspinall Claims German Darts Grand Prix Title with Victory Over Noppert

Nathan Aspinall has secured his fourth European Tour title, emerging victorious in the German Darts Grand Prix with an 8-5 win over Danny Noppert in the final. Aspinall, who has now equalled Phil Taylor's haul of four European Tour titles, made a strong comeback to claim the £35,000 top prize. The Stockport star initially took a 4-1 lead but Noppert fought back to level the score. However, Aspinall regained his composure, winning four consecutive legs to take a 7-5 lead, before sealing the win with a clinical 128 checkout. Aspinall's road to victory included wins over Ricardo Pietreczko, Martin Schindler, Andrew Gilding, and Kevin Doets. The former World Matchplay champion averaged 100.35 and posted seven 180s in the final. Aspinall expressed his excitement, stating that he is 'absolutely buzzing' and that the win has rekindled his love for the game. The BetMGM Premier League season continues with Night 10 in Brighton, featuring an all-Dutch showdown between Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen.
