Mainoo Nears New Manchester United Deal

Manchester United coach Michael Carrick has revealed that the club is nearing a new contract agreement with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. The 20-year-old's current deal, which was signed in 2023, is set to expire in the summer of 2027, but the club is keen to offer him a significant pay rise to reflect his progress. According to reports, the proposed five-year deal would run until 2031. Carrick expressed his optimism about the negotiations, stating that the situation is 'getting closer' and that the club is 'positive' about reaching an agreement. This development marks a significant turnaround for Mainoo, who was not part of the plans under previous head coach Ruben Amorim. Since Carrick took over, Mainoo has become a regular feature in the team, playing in each of the last ten Premier League matches, and has also been included in England's latest squad.
