Total Prize Money for 2026 Women's T20 World Cup Confirmed
The International Cricket Council has confirmed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup, with the winning team set to receive $2.34 million and the runners-up taking home $1.17 million. All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from the previous edition. The tournament, which will feature 12 teams, is set to be held in England and Wales this summer, with the first match taking place on June 12. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket is accelerating, and the expansion of the tournament, combined with a record prize pool, demonstrates the commitment to building a stronger global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, also expressed excitement, saying that the event is on track to become the most attended women's cricket event in history, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition.
