Robson's Grueling London Marathon Training: From Melbourne to Miami
Former British No 1, Laura Robson, has been training for the London Marathon in various locations around the world, including Melbourne, Milan Cortina, and Miami. As a television presenter and analyst for Sky Sports Tennis, Robson has had to balance her work schedule with her training regimen. She has been running in diverse conditions, from the heat of Melbourne during the Australian Open to the freezing temperatures at the Winter Olympics and the unpredictable weather at the Miami Open. Now back in the UK, Robson is preparing for the 26.2-mile race, which starts in Greenwich/Blackheath and passes by iconic landmarks such as the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, and Canary Wharf, before finishing on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace. Robson has expressed that her training has been 'brutal' and she is unsure if she can achieve her desired time. She has been using her Garmin and Strava to track her progress, but admits that she may have been too ambitious with her goals. Despite the challenges, Robson is looking forward to the atmosphere of the London Marathon and is excited to support her chosen charity, Give It Your Max, which provides free tennis lessons and after-school clubs for kids.
