Fury vs AJ: Promoter Says Boxing's Biggest Fight Will Happen This Year
According to manager Spencer Brown, Tyson Fury is set to face Anthony Joshua in a highly anticipated boxing match later this year. Brown, who is also promoting Fury's upcoming bout against Arslanbek Makhmudov, believes a victory for Fury will pave the way for the long-awaited showdown with Joshua. Brown expressed his enthusiasm for the potential fight, stating that it would be the 'World Cup final of boxing.' He acknowledged that Joshua may choose to have a warm-up fight first, but emphasized that the time for the big match is now. Fury and Joshua have been close to fighting before, but it has yet to materialize. Brown recognizes that Joshua is still recovering from a car accident and may need time to prepare. 'I don't think it has to be next for AJ after what he's been through,' Brown said. 'He has two decisions to make: either have a warm-up fight or go straight into training to face Tyson Fury.' Brown added that Fury is ready whenever Joshua is, and the ball is now in Joshua's court. The promoter also invited Joshua to attend Fury's upcoming fight against Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
