Following his unanimous decision victory over Regis Prograis, Conor Benn has expressed his desire to face WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia. Benn, who suffered cuts from several head clashes, worked tirelessly to secure the win and immediately turned his attention to Garcia. In a social media video, Benn stated, 'Garcia, keep my belt warm! I want my belt, and I want it in September.' Garcia, who claimed the WBC welterweight title in February, responded by saying, 'I'm down, let's do it.' Benn's win over Prograis, which took place at a catchweight 3lb above the welterweight limit, brings his fight record to 25-1. Benn has primarily fought at welterweight, with his only professional loss coming against Chris Eubank Jr at 160lb, a defeat he later avenged. Prograis pushed Benn hard, but the latter's speed and energy ultimately secured a comfortable points victory. Benn is now eager to move down to 147lb to challenge Garcia for the title.
