Rachael Blackmore to Receive Grand National Legend Honor

Renowned jockey Rachael Blackmore, the first woman to win the Randox Grand National, is set to be inducted as a Grand National Legend in 2026. Having made history by riding Minella Times to victory at Aintree in 2021, the 36-year-old retired jockey will be recognized at a ceremony on the opening day of the Grand National Festival this Thursday. She will join an esteemed group of racing legends, including Ginger McCain, Jenny Pitman, and JP McManus, as well as iconic horses like Red Rum, Tiger Roll, and Aldaniti. The induction ceremony will take place near the newly renamed Blackmore's Bar, which Rachael will officially open on Thursday. Blackmore expressed her gratitude, stating that winning the Randox Grand National is an unforgettable moment and being named a Grand National Legend is a significant honor. She also looks forward to opening Blackmore's Bar, a unique addition to the racecourse. Following her retirement from racing in May 2025 with 575 career wins, including 18 successes at the Cheltenham Festival, Blackmore's legacy continues to inspire.
