Riakporhe Vows to Unleash Fearsome Power in Heavyweight Division
Richard Riakporhe is set to compete in his third heavyweight bout as he challenges Jeamie TKV for the British title on Saturday. The London-born boxer will face TKV on the undercard of the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Following his loss to Chris Billam-Smith in the WBO cruiserweight title challenge, Riakporhe transitioned to the heavyweight division and has since achieved knockout victories over Kevin Nicolas Espindola and Tommy Welch. He now aims to claim his first title in the division. Riakporhe is determined to deliver a dominant performance against TKV, stating, "I'm a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division, and those who underestimate me do so at their own peril." He warned that his opponents will soon realize his true potential, saying, "They'll be talking about me, promoting my name, and warning others to beware of the 'Midnight Train' because I'm a terrifying opponent." TKV's aggressive fighting style may pose a challenge for Riakporhe, but the challenger cautioned, "You're taking on a formidable puncher, and one mistake can be costly in a 12-round bout." Riakporhe expressed his confidence, saying, "I haven't yet had the opportunity to showcase my skills in my element, but that's about to change." TKV, meanwhile, vowed to dominate the fight, stating, "I'm looking to control every aspect, whether it's mid-range, long-range, or close combat." He also warned, "I have the power to hurt my opponents, even if the fight goes the distance." Riakporhe hopes to use a British title win as a springboard to world title contention, noting that many legendary boxers have emerged from British heavyweight title fights. With several top fighters nearing the end of their careers, Riakporhe anticipates that world championships will soon become available, saying, "Don't be surprised to see a new wave of contenders vying for the world titles in the near future."
