Noa-Lynn Van Leuven Vows to Continue Fighting After Ban from Women's Darts Events

Darts player Noa-Lynn Van Leuven has expressed her disappointment and determination to keep fighting after being banned from competing in women's tournaments. The 29-year-old, who has won six titles on the women's tour since 2022, was affected by the Darts Regulation Authority's decision to only allow biological females to participate in women's events. Van Leuven, the first transgender woman to play at the World Darts Championship in 2024, stated that the decision is not just about her, but also a significant setback for the trans community. Despite the ban, Van Leuven can still compete in open tournaments. The DRA's ruling was based on a review of its policies, which included a report from an academic developmental biologist and extensive legal advice. Van Leuven has received support from fellow players, including Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries, who have spoken out in her favor. She has vowed to continue fighting and is not ready to give up on her darts career, saying 'This isn't the end. I'm just going back to the drawing board. I'm not done fighting.'
