The final leaderboard for The Masters, the year's first major golf tournament, held at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia, is now available. Rory McIlroy, the defending champion, made history by successfully defending his title after winning last year's playoff against Justin Rose, becoming the sixth player to achieve the career Grand Slam and the first since Tiger Woods. World No 1 Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite but failed to win, despite McIlroy's historic title defense.
McIlroy finished one shot ahead of Scheffler with a one-under 71, while Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley tied for third. The top 10 was rounded out by Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele.
The field consisted of 91 players, and the tournament was followed by the PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open. The PGA Tour will now head to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title.
