Thomas Partey Denies Latest Rape Allegations
Former Arsenal player Thomas Partey has entered not guilty pleas to two new allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday to deny the allegations, which relate to an incident in London in December 2020. Partey had previously been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, to which he also pleaded not guilty. The new allegations bring the total number of charges against him to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, involving four different women. The trial, which was initially set for November, may now be delayed until January next year. Partey, who currently plays for Villarreal, is on bail and is expected to participate in the World Cup with the Ghana national team this summer.
