Double Injury Setback for England in Women's Six Nations
A double injury blow has struck England's Women's Six Nations squad, with Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt forced to withdraw from the remainder of the tournament due to leg injuries sustained during the 33-12 victory over Ireland. The injuries occurred in the second half of the match, with lock Talling being taken off after 43 minutes and replacement scrum-half Hunt lasting just 13 minutes before being substituted. This latest setback means that Talling joins a list of absent locks, following the withdrawal of Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan due to pregnancy. England head coach John Mitchell acknowledged the challenge, stating that the team may need to rely on back-rowers for the rest of the competition. Talling and Hunt will remain in the England camp to consult with specialists before undergoing rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to the injuries, the RFU has confirmed that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad to prepare for the upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield.
