Andoni Iraola to Depart Bournemouth as Club Shortlists Three Potential Replacements

Bournemouth's head coach, Andoni Iraola, has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the current season. With six remaining games at Bournemouth, Iraola will conclude his record-breaking three-year tenure on the south coast. His final home match will be against Manchester City on May 17, followed by a trip to Nottingham Forest on the last day of the Premier League season. Although Bournemouth attempted to persuade Iraola to stay, they respect his decision and have already begun searching for a new head coach in the background. The club has shortlisted three favored candidates, with Bournemouth currently sitting 11th in the league and still in contention for a potential European qualification. Since his appointment in June 2023, Iraola has been a well-liked figure at the club, implementing an attacking and dynamic style of football. He will leave Bournemouth as one of the most sought-after coaching prospects in the Premier League, with potential suitors including Athletic Club, who are looking to replace Ernesto Valverde at the end of the season. Iraola spent 12 years with the Basque club and played over 500 games for them. Other clubs, such as Crystal Palace and Tottenham, had also expressed interest in Iraola, but have since moved on to other targets or made alternative appointments. Manchester United and Newcastle are also speculated to be potential destinations for Iraola, although no official decisions have been made.
