DeChambeau Eager for McIlroy Rivalry at The Masters

Bryson DeChambeau is looking forward to competing against Rory McIlroy at The Masters, following a valuable learning experience from last year's final-round disappointment. DeChambeau, a favourite to win a third major title at Augusta National, has posted top-six finishes in the past two years and arrives with back-to-back LIV Golf League victories. The two-time US Open champion briefly led during the final round last year but ended tied fifth after a three-over 75, as McIlroy claimed victory to complete the career Grand Slam. DeChambeau had previously suggested that McIlroy did not speak to him during their final-round duel, but McIlroy dismissed this claim in a recent documentary. DeChambeau expressed his desire to continue their rivalry, stating that it creates more excitement around golf. 'It's great if we can continue to have a rivalry,' DeChambeau said. 'I don't see any problem with that. If anything, it kind of helps create more buzz around the game of golf.' DeChambeau went on to say that he respects McIlroy as an individual but wants to beat him every time they compete. He reflected on last year's final round, where he took the lead but eventually fell behind McIlroy, and described it as a 'great learning lesson.' DeChambeau believes that the experience has given him perspective and he is now more determined to put himself in positions to win.
