Riakporhe Aims to Strike Fear in the Heavyweight Division

Richard Riakporhe is set to compete in his third heavyweight bout as he challenges Jeamie TKV for the British title on Saturday. The London-born fighters will face off on the undercard of the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Following his loss to Chris Billam-Smith in the WBO cruiserweight title challenge, Riakporhe transitioned to the heavyweight division, achieving knockout victories over Kevin Nicolas Espindola and Tommy Welch. He now seeks to claim his first title in the division. Riakporhe is determined to deliver a dominant performance against TKV, stating, "I'm a serious contender in the heavyweight division, and those who underestimate me are mistaken." He warns that his opponents will soon recognize his formidable presence, saying, "They'll be talking about me, promoting my name, and warning others to beware of the 'Midnight Train' because I'm a force to be reckoned with." TKV's aggressive fighting style may pose a challenge for Riakporhe, but he remains confident, cautioning the champion that his punching power can be decisive. "It only takes one misstep or miscalculation, and 12 rounds is a long time to maintain perfection," Riakporhe said. The champion, however, is undaunted, stating, "My goal is to dominate every aspect of the fight, whether it's at close range, mid-range, or long-range. I have the ability to hurt my opponents, and I intend to do just that." Riakporhe hopes that a British title win will propel him into world title contention, observing that the landscape of the sport is changing, with many top fighters nearing the end of their careers. He anticipates that world championships will become available soon, saying, "Don't be surprised to see several of us competing for world titles in the near future. I'm excited to be a part of this, and after April 11, everyone will be talking about my potential matchups against the biggest names in the sport."
