Rangers staged an impressive comeback at Falkirk to remain in contention for the Scottish Premiership title with five games left to play. Despite starting the day in third place following wins by Hearts and Celtic on Saturday, Rangers looked to be in trouble when Ben Broggio and Finn Yeats gave Falkirk a 2-0 lead. However, Tochi Chukwanui pulled one back before halftime, and a strong start to the second half saw Rangers take a 3-2 lead thanks to goals from Youssef Chermiti and Nico Raskin.
Bojan Miovski added a fourth goal for Rangers before Falkirk's Calvin Miller scored from the penalty spot after James Tavernier fouled Filip Lissah. Nevertheless, Rangers demonstrated their title credentials as both Miovski and Chermiti scored again to seal the win.
Rangers have moved back into second place, one point behind leaders Hearts, with Celtic two points further back. The comeback was sparked by Chukwuani's controversial goal just before halftime, which was scored after the ball landed on the head of Djeidi Gassama and rebounded to Chukwuani.
The introduction of Bojan Miovski for Mikey Moore at the break was a crucial change by coach Danny Röhl. Rangers had more threat in the second half and took the lead in the 52nd minute when Raskin scored. Chermiti missed another chance before Raskin set up Miovski to score.
Falkirk got a lifeline when Miller scored from the spot, but Rangers restored their two-goal cushion when Chermiti scored after Gassama's shot was blocked. Miovski sealed the win with a goal from close range two minutes from time. Coach Danny Röhl praised his team's reaction after a difficult start, saying, 'Our start was not good, but the reaction was outstanding.
We focus on our job, and it's much easier to go into the break with a win.'
