David Warner Faces Drunk Driving Charges in Sydney

Renowned Australian cricketer David Warner has been accused of driving while intoxicated in Sydney, according to reports. On Sunday evening, New South Wales police conducted a random breath test in Maroubra, Sydney, during which a 39-year-old was pulled over. The initial test yielded a positive result, and a subsequent test at the police station also came back positive. In a statement, the New South Wales Police said, "On April 5, at approximately 5:30 pm, police were conducting random breath testing on Malabar Road, Maroubra. A van allegedly stopped short of the testing site and parked. Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command approached the vehicle and administered a roadside test, which returned a positive result. The driver, a 39-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where a second test allegedly showed a reading of 0.104." Warner is scheduled to appear in court on May 7 to face charges of driving with a mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol. The incident occurred while Warner was on a break from the Pakistan Super League, where he is currently captain of the Karachi Kings. His participation in the team's upcoming game against Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday is now uncertain.
