Fury Vows to Make Makhmudov an Example

Arslanbek Makhmudov lifted Tyson Fury off the ground in a bear hug at their final press conference, but Fury took it lightly and is now focused on his mission to become a three-time world champion. Fury has come out of retirement to face Makhmudov, marking his first fight since losing to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. He declared, "For the first time in a long time, I'm the hunter, not the hunted. I'm the top man in this division, and I'm going to prove it repeatedly." Fury aims to reclaim a world title, and his first target is Makhmudov. He warned, "They'll all have to fight me sooner or later. Who else can they fight to make money?" At 37 years old, Fury must defy doubts about his ability to make a successful comeback. He assured, "I've still got it - I've done 500 rounds of sparring, and my speed and reactions are intact." Fury cautions against underestimating Makhmudov, saying, "He's a quick starter with 17 knockouts in the first couple of rounds. I've never overlooked anyone, and I won't overlook this opponent." Fury expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, "I feel sorry for Arslanbek Makhmudov. I'm going to make an example of him and knock his head off his shoulders. I'm ready to fight."
