Ben Woolliss Set for Sky Sports Return After Electrifying ONE Debut
Following his remarkable debut in ONE Championship, Britain's Ben Woolliss is slated to return to the ring on May 16, with the event airing live on Sky Sports. Woolliss will face off against Petchtanong Petchfergus in a bantamweight kickboxing match at the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, which will be broadcast on Sky Sports in the early hours of Saturday, May 16. This bout, part of ONE Fight Night 43, pits Woolliss against a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, Petchfergus. Despite battling long-term health issues, Woolliss, hailing from Grimsby, recently signed with ONE and made a notable promotional debut last month. On just nine days' notice, he accepted his first fight, taking on former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker in a featherweight kickboxing match. Woolliss secured a stunning one-round stoppage victory over Lineker, known for his formidable punching power, by utilizing damaging low kicks. The main event on May 16 features Chinese star Tang Kai defending his ONE featherweight MMA world title against Shamil 'The Cobra' Gasanov. Tang Kai has dominated all opponents in his path to the title, while Gasanov boasts a nearly flawless record, leveraging his stand-up skills, grappling, and submission expertise to outmaneuver competitors. After avenging his sole career loss, 'The Cobra' is poised to strike, potentially proving unstoppable.
