Rachael Blackmore Set to Receive Grand National Legend Honour

Trailblazing jockey Rachael Blackmore, the first woman to claim the Randox Grand National title, is slated for induction as a Grand National Legend in 2026. Having made history with her victory on Minella Times at Aintree in 2021, the now-retired 36-year-old will be formally recognized at the Grand National Festival's opening ceremony this Thursday. Blackmore will join an esteemed group of racing legends, including Ginger McCain, Jenny Pitman, and JP McManus, as well as iconic horses like Red Rum, Tiger Roll, and Aldaniti. The induction ceremony will take place near the newly named Blackmore's Bar, which she will officially open on Thursday. Reflecting on the honour, Blackmore expressed her gratitude, stating that being named a Grand National Legend is a tremendous privilege. She also looks forward to unveiling Blackmore's Bar, an innovative addition to the racecourse. Following her retirement in May 2025 with 575 career wins, including 18 Cheltenham Festival successes, this recognition crowns her remarkable achievements.
