Johnston Resumes Training, Araujo's Celtic Career May Be Over
Celtic has welcomed back long-term injury absentee Alistair Johnston to training, but Julian Araujo's time at the club may have come to an end. Johnston, a Canada right-back, has been sidelined since October due to a hamstring injury and recently rejoined his teammates at the Lennoxtown training complex ahead of the Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Meanwhile, Mexico international Araujo, who is on loan from Bournemouth, has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem. Araujo had returned to his parent club to recover but may not feature for Celtic again this season. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill expressed encouragement over Johnston's progress, stating, 'He trained with the team today, which was very encouraging. I don't think he felt any ill effects.' However, O'Neill was less optimistic about Araujo's prospects, saying, 'Julian re-injured himself under supervision at Bournemouth, so that was a real blow. I've only found that out today, so I don't think we will see him for the rest of the season.' The club also confirmed that right-back Colby Donovan will miss the upcoming match against St Mirren due to a hamstring injury. O'Neill was pleased to see the Green Brigade, the team's ultras group, return to Celtic Park after a five-month ban. The Hoops are currently chasing Hearts and Rangers at the top of the table, with O'Neill acknowledging that the title race is still uncertain.
