As the Craven meeting gets underway at Newmarket, Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle is set to take the reins on several exciting rides, including the promising Derby contender Wareeth in the Listed Feilden Stakes. On Wednesday, Doyle's mount Wareeth will face stiff competition as he takes a significant step up in class following his impressive 14-length win in a novice race at Newcastle last month.
Although Wareeth does not currently hold a Derby entry, his performance has left a lasting impression, and his second start will be closely watched to determine his potential. Wareeth will be up against Aidan O'Brien's experienced Isaac Newton, who boasts a Derby entry and an official rating of 106, as well as Godolphin's Poseidon's Warrior, who is also entered in the Classic.
All three colts are scheduled to compete in the traditional Derby trial, the Group 2 Dante at York, next month. Doyle will also be riding ZOULU CHIEF in the Weatherbys With Venatour Racing Handicap, expecting a strong performance from the sprinter, who has been busy on the All-Weather circuit over the winter.
Additionally, Doyle has high hopes for Jane Chapple-Hyam's outsider HARLEQUIN BREEZE in the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes, citing her determination and potential smart form. IMPOSSIBLE MISSION will need to prove his turf prowess when he receives weight from his rivals in the National Stud Handicap, while LADY FIZZ will gain valuable experience in the Molson Coors British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes. On Thursday, Doyle will ride Marco Botti's Shergar Cup winner PRINCE OF INDIA in the Zyn Abernant Stakes and is expecting a strong performance from the powerfully built colt. The Group 3 Betway Craven Stakes will see Aidan O'Brien's Hawk Mountain make his return, and Doyle has high expectations for the Group 1 winner.
Karl Burke's Boiling Point will also return to turf in the Group 3 Betway Earl Of Sefton Stakes, aiming to establish himself as a genuine Pattern performer this season.
