Laura Robson's Grueling London Marathon Training: From Melbourne to Miami

Former Junior Wimbledon champion Laura Robson has been juggling her role as a television presenter and analyst with intense training for the London Marathon. Her training regimen has taken her from the sweltering heat of Melbourne during the Australian Open to the freezing temperatures of the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, and finally to the unpredictable weather of the Miami Open. Now back in the UK, Robson is gearing up for the 26.2-mile race, which will take her through iconic landmarks such as the Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, and Canary Wharf, before culminating in front of Buckingham Palace. Robson described her training experience as 'brutal,' expressing uncertainty about meeting her desired sub-3:30 finish time. Despite the challenges, she remains focused on her goal, fueled by a carb-rich diet and electrolytes to stay hydrated. Robson drew inspiration from her Padel-playing friends, who advised her to prioritize consistency over panic. As she enters her final week of intense training before tapering off, Robson is looking forward to the electric atmosphere of the London Marathon, having experienced it firsthand while supporting a friend last year. She will be running in support of the Give It Your Max charity, which provides free tennis lessons and support to kids in schools.
