Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in her second WTA Tour final of the year after defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semifinals. Andreeva, the top seed, initially broke Ruse's serve in the opening game but then faced consecutive breaks on her own serve. However, she regained control by breaking Ruse to love in the eighth game and then again in the next service game to claim the set 6-4. Andreeva dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games, and served out the match in 1 hour and 27 minutes, winning 6-4, 6-1. Anastasia Potapova will also return to the final for the first time since her debut title win three years ago, having overcome Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals. Potapova took an early lead, going 4-1 up, but Vekic mounted a comeback. However, Potapova held on to take the first set and continued her strong performance in the second set, building a 4-0 lead before securing her first win over Vekic in their last three meetings. This marks Potapova's first final since representing Russia, prior to December 2025. The upcoming final will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters, although they have yet to play each other on clay.
