England Women's Six Nations Team Hit by Dual Injury Setback
The England women's rugby team has been dealt a significant blow with the loss of Morwenna Talling and Natasha Hunt to injury, ruling them out for the remainder of the Women's Six Nations tournament. Both players suffered leg injuries during the team's 33-12 victory over Ireland at Allianz Stadium, with Talling being forced off after 43 minutes and Hunt lasting just 13 minutes after coming on as a substitute. This latest setback adds to England's existing injury woes in the second row, with Zoe Stratford, Abbie Ward, and Rosie Galligan all previously withdrawing from the tournament due to pregnancy. England head coach John Mitchell acknowledged the challenge posed by these injuries, stating that the team may need to adapt and rely on back-rowers to fill the gaps. Talling and Hunt will remain with the England squad to consult with specialists before beginning their rehabilitation at their respective clubs. In response to these injuries, the RFU has announced that Sydney Gregson and uncapped player Haidee Head have joined the squad ahead of the team's upcoming match against Scotland at Murrayfield.
