Aston Martin's Struggles Expected to Continue

According to Sky Sports F1's Martin Brundle, Aston Martin's dismal start to the 2026 season is far from over. Despite having design genius Adrian Newey on board and partnering with Honda, the team has failed to score a point in the first three race weekends, with Fernando Alonso's 18th-place finish in Japan being the only instance where one of their cars completed a full Grand Prix. Brundle believes that Aston Martin's woes will persist until 2027, as they are currently missing out on three to four seconds per lap, putting them in a different category compared to the front runners. The team is working to address engine vibrations and improve their package, but it will be a while before they can bridge the gap. Fellow commentator David Croft shares a similar sentiment, stating that Aston Martin's project is a long-term one and that they will likely struggle throughout the season until they can accommodate their power unit and reduce vibrations.
